MACD + Divergence + Line █ OVERVIEW
Here's the classic MACD with some simples features in plus.
█ CONCEPTS
4 features
1 — Classic MACD histogram, with 4 different colors such as above or below 0, and above or below the previous bar
2 — Display option to disable EMA
3 — A signal line that show the exact point, because the histogram view might be hard to be precise
4 — Looking for previous Divergences, Bullish, Bearish and Hidden Bullish and Bearish but I don't like Hidden divergences
█ OTHER SECTIONS
An oscillator is good to know where we are in the trends, but it's not enough to run a small business of trading, you need to learn how to use it.
What is a divergence ?
Thanks to The rational investor for teaching me how to use this indicator.
MACD DivergencesUpdate of MACD indicator which shows the most recent, and developing, price action divergences with the histogram.
Macd Divergence + MTF EMA MACD Divergence + Multi Time Frame EMA
This Strategy uses 3 indicators: the Macd and two emas in different time frames
The configuration of the strategy is:
Macd standar configuration (12, 26, 9) in 1H resolution
10 periods ema, in 1H resolution
5 periods ema, in 15 minutes resolution
We use the two emas to filter for long and short positions.
If 15 minutes ema is above 1H ema, we look for long positions
If 15 minutes ema is below 1H ema, we look for short positions
We can use an aditional filter using a 100 days ema, so when the 15' and 1H emas are above the daily ema we take long positions
Using this filter improves the strategy
We wait for Macd indicator to form a divergence between histogram and price
If we have a bullish divergence, and 15 minutes ema is above 1H ema, we wait for macd line to cross above signal line and we open a long position
If we have a bearish divergence, and 15 minutes ema is below 1H ema, we wait for macd line to cross below signal line and we open a short position
We close both position after a cross in the oposite direction of macd line and signal line
Also we can configure a Take profit parameter and a trailing stop loss

MACD Divergence StrategyStrategy Description: MACD Divergence with SMA Crossover Strategy
Overview:
The MACD Divergence with SMA Crossover Strategy is designed to identify high-probability trading opportunities based on the interaction of the MACD (Moving Average Convergence Divergence) indicator and key moving averages. This strategy focuses on detecting divergences between the MACD line and the signal line, combined with specific conditions related to the 50-period and 800-period SMAs. It ensures that the MACD and signal lines do not cross the zero line between the current and previous divergence points, thereby filtering out weaker signals and enhancing the accuracy of trade entries.
Key Components:
Simple Moving Averages (SMAs):
50-period SMA: A short-term trend indicator that helps identify the prevailing market direction.
800-period SMA: A long-term trend indicator used to gauge the overall market trend.
MACD Indicator:
MACD Line: Represents the difference between the 12-period EMA and the 26-period EMA.
Signal Line: A 9-period EMA of the MACD line.
Histogram: The difference between the MACD line and the signal line, used to visualize the strength of the signal.
Trade Conditions:
Long Position (Buy):
The 50 SMA is above the 800 SMA, indicating a bullish market trend.
The MACD line and signal line are both below zero, signifying a potential bullish reversal.
A bullish divergence is detected when the MACD line crosses above the signal line below zero, without either line crossing the zero level between the current and previous cross.
Short Position (Sell):
The 50 SMA is below the 800 SMA, indicating a bearish market trend.
The MACD line and signal line are both above zero, signaling a potential bearish reversal.
A bearish divergence is detected when the MACD line crosses below the signal line above zero, without either line crossing the zero level between the current and previous cross.
Signal Plotting:
Long Signals: Displayed when the conditions for a bullish divergence and SMA alignment are met, marked with a green upward arrow on the chart.
Short Signals: Displayed when the conditions for a bearish divergence and SMA alignment are met, marked with a red downward arrow on the chart.

MG - MACD - Divergence - 1.0The MACD indicator can produce some powerful divergence signals which can be useful confirmation for entering / exiting a trade.
This indicator generates and alert and plots (if enabled), when a divergence is detected. For example, if bullish (above zero) and two bearish MACD crosses are detected with the second being lower than the first, a bearish divergence alert is triggered. Theoretically a good place to take profit / possibly enter a short position if you have further confirmation.
Can also be configured to include continuation signals i.e. a bullish trend with two bullish MACD crosses where the second is higher than the first. This could indicate more bullish action ahead.
In order to illustrate how this indicator helps to sift out a good amount of false signals, I have highlighted in the above image in dark green, all of the divergence buy signals highlighted by the indicator and in light green, the rest of the MACD buy signals.

A momentum and volatility-normalized oscillator based on the typical price (H+L+C)/3:
TrendCI Line (Blue) – Main trend signal based on smoothed CCI logic.
TrendLine2 (Orange) – A slower smoothing of TrendCI for crossovers.
Key Zones (customizable):
🔴 Ultra Overbought: +73
🟣 Overbought: +58
🟣 Oversold: -58
🔴 Ultra Oversold: -73
Trade Logic:
✅ Buy Signal: TrendCI crosses above TrendLine2 while in oversold zone
❌ Sell Signal: TrendCI crosses below TrendLine2 while in overbought zone
Additional visual feedback:
Histogram Bars show strength and direction of momentum shift
Green/Red Circles highlight potential long/short setups
📉 2. MACD System + Divergence Finder
Classic MACD enhanced with a Donchian Midline overlay to filter trend bias.
🔷 MACD Line and 🟠 Signal Line show crossover momentum
🟩/🟥 Histogram shows distance from the signal line
🟪 Adjusted Donchian Midline dynamically adapts to range-bound vs trending environments
Background Color provides real-time trend state:
✅ Green = Bullish Trend
❌ Red = Bearish Trend
No color = Neutral / Choppy
MACD Boundaries (user-defined):
Overbought: +1.0
Oversold: -1.0
🔀 3. Divergence Detection
Spot hidden power shifts before price reacts:
🔼 Positive Divergence – Price makes lower lows, but MACD histogram rises
🔽 Negative Divergence – Price makes higher highs, but MACD histogram weakens
These are visually marked with:
Green “+Div” label (bullish reversal cue)
Red “–Div” label (bearish exhaustion signal)
🎯 How to Use It
For Trend Traders:
Stay in sync with macro trend using MACD histogram + background
Use ATPC crossovers for precision entries
Avoid signals during neutral background (chop filter)
For Reversal Traders:
Look for bullish +Div with ATPC buy signal in oversold zone
Look for bearish –Div with ATPC sell signal in overbought zone
Mid-Donchian line can act as confluence or breakout trigger
For Scalpers & Intraday Traders:
Combine with VWAP, liquidity zones, or order flow levels
ATPC crossovers + MACD histogram zero-line flip = potential scalp entry
Use histogram slope and divergence to avoid false momentum traps

MACD Divergence Fast by RSUAdvantages:
1. When MACD-diff line(orange color) is at a high point, once it falls by 1 k line, it will detect the divergence from the previous high point. This can quickly find the divergence that has taken effect and help you quickly capture the trend before a sharp decline or rise.
2. This indicator detects the previous high and the previous low of 5, 10, 20, 40, 60 lengths at the same time, instead of only detecting a fixed length, so that more divergences can be found.
Notice:
Because it is a quick divergence detection, it is recommended to confirm that the divergence takes effect after the current k is completely closed first. I have identified this state in the indicator as "k not end".
Disadvantages and Risks:
Since it is a quick discovery, there will be error identification. Error divergences will recolor to grey.
Suggestion:
Use “RSI Divergence Fast by RSU” at the same time, because RSI divergence usually occurs before macd, if the position diverges at the same time, the probability of success will increase.
Please do not:
Don't go short in the uptrend, don't go long in the downtrend.
Top divergences that occur because of a strong uptrend are usually only temporary pullbacks. Bottom divergences in persistent declines are also temporary rallies. Do not attempt to trade such low-return trades.
It is recommended to use the divergence indicator when the stock price has made a new high and retraced, and once again made a new high, because this often leads to the end of the trend.
Divergence how to use:
1. After the previous K line was completely closed, a bottom divergence was found.
2. Open an long order at the beginning of the second bar, or as close to the bottom as possible (because the stop loss will be smaller).
3. Break the stop loss price below the previous low where the divergence occurred, which already means that the divergence is wrong.
MACD Divergences by @DaviddTechThis indicator helps find divergences in the MACD.
This uses the modification of the TV built-in "Divergence indicator" (Version 10) that I have applied to the MACD.
Usage:
Add the indicator to your chart and then watch for it to plot divergences.
MACD divergence with line drawing by RexioAnother appoach to finding divergences at MACD. This time I think it is much smoother so I could check for divergences between two "peaks" at MACD.
I added my SL line which is last peak +- 1xATR. And the second line is peak between two points of divergence and most of the time it acts like an SR line.
If the higher timeframe trend backs up our divergence (for example: higher trend UP - divergence for L position) I can try to jump in after crossing EMA10.
This indicator is only sugestion for me. I always check price action, trend, SR line before I take any action.
Every people who will test this indicator need to know basics about divergences as THISE ARE NOT BUY/SELL SIGNALS.

MACD Histogram on RSI - Hex ColorsThe Moving Average Convergence Divergence ( MACD ) indicator was developed by Gerald Appel in the late 1970s as a tool for identifying changes in momentum, trend strength, and direction in financial markets . Appel designed MACD to provide traders with a clearer view of market trends by comparing two exponential moving averages (EMAs) and their convergence or divergence over time. The indicator became widely popular due to its versatility—it helps traders recognize strong trends while also signaling potential reversals. Over the years, MACD has evolved, with refinements in interpretation and parameter settings, making it a staple in technical analysis. The most impotrtant indications given by MACD are divergences .
MACD divergences are classified into different types based on their strength and reliability in predicting trend reversals . Here are the main classes:
Class A Divergence: This is the strongest type of divergence. It occurs when the price makes a new high (or low), but the MACD fails to confirm it by making a lower high (or higher low). This signals a high probability of trend reversal.
Class B Divergence: In this case, the price forms a double top or double bottom, but the MACD does not reach a new extreme. This suggests a potential reversal but with less certainty compared to Class A.
Class C Divergence: The weakest form of divergence, where the price makes a new high or low, but the MACD forms a pattern similar to a double top or double bottom. This indicates a possible slowdown in momentum rather than a strong reversal.
These divergences help traders assess whether a trend is losing strength and may reverse.
Besides these, there are two other signals that traders should be aware of, viz, ZLR and Shamur signal.
The Zero Line Reject (ZLR) is a concept in MACD analysis where the MACD line approaches the zero line, briefly crosses it, and then reverses direction. This behavior suggests that the trend attempted to shift but failed, reinforcing the prevailing trend. Traders often interpret this as a continuation signal rather than a reversal.
The Shamur Signal , as some traders call it, is a variation of this pattern. It occurs when the MACD line drops below the zero line, rebounds above it, and then resumes its downward movement—or vice versa for bullish setups. This pattern can indicate a false breakout or a temporary shift in momentum before the trend resumes. The key takeaway is that the market attempted to reverse but lacked the strength to sustain the move, making it a potential opportunity for trend traders.
Now let's look at RSI(14) briefly: The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is a widely used momentum oscillator that measures the speed and magnitude of price movements to identify overbought and oversold conditions. Developed by J. Welles Wilder Jr. in 1978, RSI operates on a scale from 0 to 100, with readings above 70 typically indicating an overbought market and readings below 30 signaling an oversold market. Traders use RSI to assess trend strength, spot potential reversals, and confirm price movements. While effective in ranging markets, RSI can also be adapted with divergence analysis and dynamic thresholds to enhance its predictive power.
Now, the question arises why do we use an indicator on indicator?
Using indicator-on-indicator analysis enhances traditional technical indicators by applying secondary calculations to their values, unlocking deeper insights into market behavior. This method offers several advantages:
Refined Signal Filtering – Applying an indicator to another indicator smooths out noise, helping traders avoid false signals and focus on meaningful market trends. For example, using MACD on RSI can reveal momentum shifts that standard RSI alone might overlook.
Multi-Layered Confirmation – Instead of relying on a single indicator, traders get a more nuanced view of price movements. Secondary indicators reinforce decisions, improving accuracy in identifying trend strength and reversals.
Adaptive Market Analysis – Different market environments require different tools. Indicator-on-indicator techniques allow traders to fine-tune strategies based on changing volatility and momentum conditions rather than relying on static thresholds.
Creative Customization – Traders can mold indicators to fit their specific market approach. Whether refining entries/exits or detecting trend exhaustion, these hybrid setups provide tailored insights beyond conventional methods.
This approach is particularly useful for momentum and trend-based trading, offering a more dynamic perspective that adapts to price action in a way traditional indicators cannot.
What are the potential shortcomings of such an approach?
While indicator-on-indicator analysis can refine signals and enhance decision-making, it also comes with several drawbacks that traders should consider:
Lagging Effect – Since indicators are already derivatives of price action, stacking them introduces additional delays in responsiveness. This can lead to late entries or exits, reducing a strategy’s effectiveness in fast-moving markets.
Over-Filtering Signals – Applying an indicator to another can smooth out noise, but it may also suppress valuable early signals. Traders may miss key turning points if too much filtering dilutes the raw market momentum.
Complex Interpretation – Standard indicators have well-defined thresholds and behaviors, but once modified by another indicator, they can become harder to interpret. Traders may struggle to adapt existing strategies or find reliable patterns.
Reduced Versatility – Some hybrid indicators work well in specific market conditions but lose their edge in others. This dependency on particular trends or volatility levels can make a strategy less adaptable.
Potential Redundancy – If indicators are not chosen wisely, layering them may lead to excessive confirmation bias, where multiple indicators show similar information without providing any new insights.
While indicator-on-indicator techniques can refine analysis, careful calibration is required to balance precision with practicality.
The MACD on RSI Indicator merges two powerful momentum-based indicators, offering deeper insights into trend dynamics and market strength . By applying the MACD calculation to the RSI values instead of price, traders can detect subtle shifts in momentum that might be overlooked by traditional MACD or RSI alone.
This hybrid approach enhances trend confirmation , allowing traders to gauge whether RSI’s momentum aligns with MACD's trend direction. It helps in early signal detection , potentially revealing trend shifts before they appear on conventional setups. Additionally, it reduces false signals by filtering RSI fluctuations, making MACD more reactive to meaningful changes in strength rather than short-term noise.
By combining these indicators, traders can refine entries and exits based on momentum divergences, zero-line behaviors, and shifts in trend acceleration. The MACD on RSI setup is particularly useful in identifying trend exhaustion and continuation signals, making it a valuable tool in both ranging and trending markets.
I have primarily used this indicator to spot hidden divergences. So what are they?
Hidden divergences , sometimes referred to as reverse divergences , are a powerful yet often overlooked concept in technical analysis. Unlike regular divergences, which signal potential trend reversals, hidden divergences indicate trend continuation —suggesting that the prevailing trend is likely to persist despite temporary price fluctuations.
Hidden divergences occur when the price makes a higher low in an uptrend or a lower high in a downtrend, while the oscillator (such as RSI, MACD, or Stochastic) forms a lower low or higher high, respectively. This discrepancy suggests that momentum is still strong in the direction of the trend, even though price action may appear to weaken momentarily.
Types of Hidden Divergences
---------------------------------------------------------
Hidden Bullish Divergence: Price forms a higher low, but the oscillator prints a lower low. This signals that the uptrend remains intact and is likely to continue.
Hidden Bearish Divergence: Price forms a lower high, but the oscillator prints a higher high. This suggests that the downtrend is still dominant and likely to persist.
Why Hidden Divergences Matter
Hidden divergences are particularly useful for trend-following traders, as they provide early confirmation that a trend is still strong despite minor pullbacks. They help traders avoid premature exits and reinforce confidence in holding positions longer. Additionally, hidden divergences can serve as entry signals, allowing traders to position themselves in the direction of the trend before a new wave of momentum unfolds.
Key Considerations
While hidden divergences are valuable, they should not be used in isolation. Combining them with support/resistance levels, volume analysis, and price action confirmation enhances their reliability. Additionally, they tend to work best in strong trending markets, where momentum indicators align with price direction.
By mastering hidden divergences, traders can refine their ability to ride trends effectively, reducing the risk of exiting too soon or misinterpreting temporary pullbacks as reversals.
In my trading, I have used this indicator since 2009. My general aim is to make it available to all my friends. If you are using it, you are also my friend. So happy trading.
